The History of the Lexenhof at Lake Attersee

Tradition, Hospitality and Coziness ...
This is the Lexenhof since 1447, when Michel Lexl was first mentioned as a house owner in documents. Unfortunately, many historical documents were lost in a fire, but the history of our house continues. For centuries, the Lexenhof was not only a place of hospitality, but also a farm. What makes us proud: The house remained in family ownership and was passed down from generation to generation. Even today, we live by this tradition - we preserve the original character of the house, while offering our guests modern comfort.

    Stories from Grandpa

In the past, a swimming spot was often exchanged for a barrel of beer or a bit of wood for the roof truss. A plot of land by the lake was much more commonly referred to as a sour meadow.

That's why we are all the happier to be able to call a somewhat larger piece of meadow directly on Lake Attersee our hotel beach. There are hardly any quieter places, away from the hustle and bustle of the day tourists, to relax a little and unwind. A dip in the crystal-clear water is the perfect way to round off a day at the lake. Access to the bathing area is included with every booking!
